No approval decision applies. Oklahoma is use and file; this is the overall rate impact the department lists for the filing. Individual premiums vary.
Who it affects
The change applies to Central Insurance Company's homeowners policies in Oklahoma: new policies written from Dec. 1, 2025 and renewals from Jan. 1, 2026, the dates the company requested. The 19.7% is the overall rate impact across the policies the filing covers; individual policyholders' changes can be larger or smaller. The department's report does not say how many policies are affected or which policy forms the filing covers.

What happens next
Oklahoma is a use-and-file state: insurers can use new rates before filing them and must file within 30 days after the effective date. The department says it cannot disapprove a rate for being too high in Oklahoma's competitive homeowners market; it can disapprove rates that are unfairly discriminatory or inadequate. From July 1, 2027, under House Bill 3781, rates must be filed 30 days before they take effect. More on the process is on our Oklahoma page.
