FiledRates reports public insurance filings for informational purposes. It is not insurance, legal, or financial advice.
Averages, not your premium
Rate changes reported in filings are usually overall averages across all the policies a filing affects. Your own premium can change by more or less than the average, or move in the other direction, depending on where you live, your coverage, your home's characteristics, discounts, and other rating factors. Your insurer can explain how a rate change applies to your policy.
Filings change
A requested rate change is not final until the regulator acts on it or, in states that allow it, until the insurer puts it into use. Regulators can approve, reduce, or reject requests, and insurers can withdraw or amend them. We update reports when we confirm new information, but the official record is held by the state regulator.
Check the source documents
Every filing report links to the documents it is based on. Where our report and an official document differ, the official document controls. Please tell us if you find a difference so we can correct it.
No affiliation
FiledRates is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting for any insurer, agent, broker, or government agency. Insurer and agency names are used only to identify the filings we report on.
